19-Year-Old Moonachie Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Rear-End Collision

A 19-year-old motorcyclist from Moonachie was rushed to the hospital after being ejected during a rear-end crash on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights. The victim, whose name has not been released, was riding a motorcycle northbound when he was struck from behind by a vehicle. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be thrown from his bike and he landed on the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Rockland County Truck Driver Charged in Fatal Motorcycle Crash

The Rockland County driver of a garbage truck has been charged with vehicular homicide in connection with the death of a 52-year-old motorcyclist from Hasbrouck Heights. Jonathan Lacher, 50, was traveling south on Route 17 in a garbage truck when he struck a motorcyclist who was traveling in the same direction. The motorcyclist, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
