Arsenal Thrash Wolves to Maintain Premier League Lead

High-Flying Gunners Continue Impressive Run

Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard on Target in Dominant Performance

London, UK - Arsenal maintained their grip on the Premier League title race with a convincing 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. The Gunners, who have now won seven of their last eight matches, extended their lead at the top of the table to five points.

Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal the lead in the first half, rifling home from close range after a fine build-up involving Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu. Martin Odegaard doubled the hosts' advantage after the break with a well-taken finish from the edge of the area.

Wolverhampton Wanderers pulled a goal back through Matheus Cunha late on, but it was not enough to prevent defeat. The result leaves Wolves languishing in 19th place in the table, just two points above the relegation zone.

"We're delighted with the win," said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. "We knew it would be a tough game, but we showed great character and quality to get the three points."

"We're in a good position now, but there's still a long way to go. We need to keep working hard and taking each game as it comes," he added.

Arsenal will be looking to extend their winning run when they travel to Aston Villa on Wednesday.
